Jewellery Care

18k Gold Plated Stainless Steel & Stainless Steel

These are the main materials you will find on our website. This is because the 18k Gold Plated Stainless steel and Stainless Steel we stock are tarnish free, long lasting, waterproof and hypoallergenic. These pieces require minimal care and are extremely affordable.
Each piece has three layers of gold plating over stainless titanium steel.

Though these pieces are resistant to water, and perfume we still suggest protecting your jewellery from the elements:

Cleaning

Use a soft, dry cloth to dust regularly. For cleaning, you can use a mild soap and water solution or a non-abrasive jewellery cleaner. You can also use a soft-bristled brush to gently scrub the item. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and pat dry with a soft cloth. Avoid using steel wool, scouring pads, or sharp-edged tools, as they can scratch the surface.

Storing

Store each piece of jewellery separately in a dry place, away from sunlight and humidity. You can store them in a jewellery box or soft pouch.

Protecting

Avoid exposing your jewellery to harsh chemicals, such as perfumes, lotions, and hairsprays. You can also apply a clear sealant to add an extra layer of protection and make tarnishing less likely.

Handling

Be mindful of banging or scratching your jewellery against hard surfaces.

18k Gold Vermeil

Our Gold Vermeil is Eco sterling silver with a thick layer of 18k gold plating. This is the perfect balance of precious metals and great affordability.

Avoid using steel wool, scouring pads, or sharp-edged tools, as they can scratch the surface.: Keep your gold vermeil in a jewellery box, pouch, or zip lock bag, and away from heat and weight. Store pieces separately so they don't rub together.

Avoid water and Chemicals:

Remove your gold vermeil before showering, swimming, exercising, or washing your hands. If it gets wet, rinse it with warm water and pat dry. Don't use chemical jewellery dips, silver cloths, or polishing cloths that contain chemicals meant for silver. Avoid lotions, perfumes, and makeup: Apply these products before putting on your jewellery.

Take it off before bed:

Remove your gold vermeil before going to sleep.

Mixed Materials/Metals:

The handmade jewellery currently found on our website is crafted with various metals plated in 18k gold. We also use glass beads, crystals and different strengths of nylon string to make some of our more complicated pieces. This area is still currently a work in progress while we build up our collection of high quality materials and findings. Some gold colourings may vary between findings. This is also something we are working hard to get matched up. The price of our items will always reflect this.

Please take care with your handmade items. We would advise that you do not exercise or do any strenuous activity in them along with exposing to harsh chemicals and/or water and liquids.
